AFN Taiwan, 1968
Sgt. Donald H. Block adjusts the volume as he works at a new broadcast console at the Armed Forces Network Taiwan studios. AFNT was in its 14th year of serving not only its American military audience, but also many Chinese listeners whose reactions accounted for much of the station's fan mail. All operating funds and radio equipment used for broadcasts, which started Dec. 23, 1954, were provided by the Chinese Friends of the Armed Forces Association.
