Nelson – admits nearly 700 patients a month through its doors for resident treatment. More serious cases, approximately 170 per month, are evacuated to Japan. With a primary medical mission of supporting all United Nations Forces in Korea, the hospital specializes in neurosurgery and the treatment of infantile paralysis, hemorrhagic fever, and hepatitis. In addition, medical teams from the hospital treat about 2,500 men with minor medical ailments at the servicemembers’ unit areas.
